enter the world of NARUTO Sasuke fought back tears as his son spoke of helping him restore the clan's honor. He sat for a few moments as he tried to maintain his composure...which was a hard thing to do. Finally, after a bit, he placed a hand on Keiji's head and ruffled his hair. He slowly nodded and opened his mouth to speak. Though, words escaped him for a moment or two. He smiled. "...I don't think I could be anymore proud of you than I am now, Keiji..." he said. With that said, he nodded. "If anyone can do it...it's you, son." he added. Naruto grinned. "Well, this certainly turned out to be a happy ending, huh?" he asked. Kazuo rolled his eyes, "Yeah. Except this story is just beginning, dad." he replied.

"...I don't think I could be anymore proud of you than I am now, Keiji..."
A feeling rose in Keiji's chest, powerful and great, and one that he'd never felt before. The words from his father brought a great tugging at the sides of his mouth, and for once, Keiji allowed himself a grand smile. Finally he turned his gaze away, and there it landed on Kazuo, and the boy smiled again, this time a softer, more grateful smile. He didn't have to say thank you; the two knew one another well enough without having to speak.
Keiji continued to smile, vaguely now as he gathered his thoughts within his mind, savoring every moment of the new life he'd uncovered, the feeling of his father's hand lovingly upon his head, the words he'd spoken moments ago. "It took toil and issue..." he said quietly, his gaze on no one in particular; "But...I'm glad to be home. I don't know if I ever said that." The boy's words were sincere, and as he said them, he felt a warmth gather in the bottom of his eyes, his vision blurring whenever he tried looking down.
So many dreams were being realized, and in such strange ways had everything been weaved together. Naruto had become Hokage, as he'd always worked for--in turn, he brought Sasuke home--that led to Keiji's birth itself--years later, realizations had come about through the hard way of learning--now peace had settled in, and the birth of that baby boy 16 years ago had become the link to Sasuke's dreams, dreams that Keiji now shared; Sasuke wouldn't have to settle, and finally, maybe finally...he could be at peace.
It was the least he could do for Sasuke...for receiving the love and recognition he'd always craved.
It's all what brought tears to Keiji's eyes. He was home. He was loved. He had something great to work for. There was no shame in his heart of his clan; to him, it was all but a tragedy, misunderstood and buried away, something people nowadays would rather not deal with. If Keiji had learned anything, it was that not everything was irreversible--Kazuo had shown him that when he brought him home again to Konoha. He would be forever grateful.
Keiji would fix this; he knew he had to. He felt the weight of the responsibility upon his shoulders, but not as a burden--it was light and warm, empowering and true.
"He's right. This is just the beginning," Keiji agreed, releasing a relieving sigh. His gaze turned back to Sasuke again. "I promise you, Father. One day Uchiha will be great again. Just wait, and I'll make sure of it for you." Keiji fell silent for a few moments, his gaze softening a bit with his voice.
"My entire life... I've wanted nothing more than for you to be proud of me."

...Now that I finally have your recognition... ...I'm never letting that go...
