"You're telling me..." Ashitaka said from Takashi's side as they walked. He had his arms folded behind his head, dark eyes watching the sky; "Though...I'm sure you had a lot more than me to do. Heh." He gave his friend a cheesy smile, elbowing him in the side. "I never did get to congratulate you, Takashi-san. So... Congratulations. You deserve this position in my opinion."

Takashi laughed at Ashitaka's cheesy smile before giving him one in return.
"Thank you, Ashitaka. That means a lot to me to hear that from you."
He paused.
"Congratulations on your position as well!"
Finally, he had reached his destination. Opening the door, he walked in and looked around. He stepped into the house and gestured for Ashitaka to follow. He yawned yet again before attempting to speak.
"Hey, I'm back!"
Toshiro stepped into view, a large smile on his face. He walked over and pulled his son into a large hug. He released it after a moment or two and patted his son on the back.
"Congratulations on your first day, son!"

"Oniichan!" squealed Sayuri as Takashi walked in, scrambling from her chair and hugging her brother around his knees, which was about all she could reach. Sakura laughed, smiling at her son as he entered. "She didn't miss you at all," she said sarcastically, eyeing the tiny girl clinging to Takashi's legs.
Ashitaka walked in after Takashi, waving a quiet hand in greeting and offering a smile.

Takashi laughed, patting his sister on the head. He had pretty much expected this to be the reaction he would receive. He looked down and smiled at her before pinching her cheek.
"Hello, Sayuri. Did you have a good day at school?"
Toshiro, noticing that Ashitaka had walked in as well, looked over at the boy and smiled.
"Hiya, Ashitaka! How are you today, kiddo?"

Sayuri let go of Takashi and stepped back once, nodding and smiling widely. "Mhm!" she answered, then her attention turned to Ashitaka standing nearby. She eyed him for a moment, then spoke, "He's wearing funny clothes like you, oniichan. Is he a bigshot too?"
Ashitaka laughed, giving Takashi a questioning look. He looked up as Toshiro spoke, smiling again. "I'm good..." he answered; "A little tired, but good." "How's your family?" asked Sakura; "It's been a while since we've seen them." Ashitaka thought for a bit. "Let's see...my brother is learning, my mom is still super chill, and my dad is still grumpy."

Takashi laughed as well.
"You could say that, Sayuri."
He took a seat and kicked back, fairly tired after a long day of work. He yawned yet another time before sighing slightly.
Toshiro stifled laughter.
"That doesn't surprise me one bit. Your dad's always been like that."
He looked over at Sakura for a moment before looking to Takashi and then Ashitaka.
"We're having a get together today over here. Us, your family, and Naruto's family."
He paused for a moment.
"Does that sound like something you'd be interested in?"

Ashitaka smiled at the suggestion, seeming to agree quickly. "That sounds like a great idea, actually," he answered, nodding; "Father could probably use some socializing before he forgets what the word means." He laughed, then paused. "If you want, I can get them all for you so you don't have to go running back and forth."

Toshiro nodded vigorously, not wanting to go to a million different places to ask. "That would be great, thanks! That would be a tremendous help!" he said. He grinned slightly before something seemed to cross his mind. With a sort of puzzled look on his face, he asked "How do you intend to get to all of them and ask, by the way?"
Takashi smirked. He had a sneaking suspicion of how Ashitaka planned to do things.

"Shouldn't be a problem at all," Ashitaka said with a simple shrug. He stepped back from the others and bit into his thumb, then stooped down and pressed a hand against the wooden floor. A plume of smoke rose, and as it cleared, it revealed a tiny fennec fox. Against the fox's side, strapped around his small body, was a small satchel containing paper and what looked to be ink. The fox eyed the people in the room before turning, looking upward at Ashitaka expectantly. "What is it you wish to ask of me, Ashitaka-san?" "I need you to do me a quick favor, Hayai," Ashitaka replied, stooping down to a knee to speak with the small fox; "Could you write a couple of duplicated letters of invitation notice?" Hayai turned his head and grabbed a pen from the satchel and a few rolls of paper. "But of course," he answered, waiting patiently. "'Lunch at the Akisaka home today' is enough," said Ashitaka, watching as the fox scribbled the words swiftly. Hayai rolled up the papers and tucked them back into his satchel, putting away the pen as well. "Who do these go to?" "One for the Hokage and one to my parents." "I will see to it that they are delivered, Ashitaka-san." "Thank you, Hayai."
The fox turned quickly and leapt into and out of an open window, darting down the dirt streets.

"Oooh! I see! A summon! Well that's pretty handy!" said Toshiro as he nodded his head in approval. "It will definitely make things a lot easier. Very quick thinking." he added. He looked over to Takashi, giving him a funny look. "...you be on your best behavior when everyone gets here. I know how you get when you're with your friends."
Takashi rolled his eyes. "Oh come on. It's not like I'm going to purposely act like an idiot to embarrass you infront of your friends." he said before giving him a small smirk. "Or.....am I?" he asked. Toshiro sighed slightly and shook his head, "You're such a pain sometimes, boy."

"I picked up the fox's pact not too long ago..." Ashitaka explained, smiling as he watched Hayai disappear from the room; "They haven't been used in a while. They come in pretty handy, though."
Ashitaka grinned at the mention of Takashi's friends, sidling over and muttering in a low tone. "Yeah," he mumbled with a smirk; "Just wait til Kushina gets here. Today should be pretty fun."
---
Hayai reached the Hokage's building rather quickly. Rather than using the door, he found it more efficient to climb the pipes and rafters. Through a window he leapt, the first note clamped between his tiny jaws. He jumped down from the window sill, then up onto the Hokage's desk where he held the letter in wait for the man.

Takashi laughed. "Yeah, no joke. Let's hope our parents don't freak out before it's over with." he replied. Looking over at his father, who now had a slightly annoyed look on his face. "Ah, cheer up dad! I'm just messing with you. I wouldn't embarrass you on purpose!"
Toshiro raised an eyebrow. "Why don't I believe that?" he asked.
Naruto was startled when the fox jumped through his window and onto the desk. "Gah! What is it!?" he exclaimed. Looking at the animal for a moment, he noticed that it had a note in it's mouth. Taking it out, he unfolded it and started to read it out loud. "Lunch at the Akisaka home today." he said. A grin spread across his face and looked down at the fox, giving it a thumbs up.
"Tell them we'll be there, Mr. Fox!"

"Come on!" Ashitaka chimed in, throwing an arm over Takashi's shoulder and grinning widely at the boy's parents; "How can you not trust these faces?" Sakura raised her eyebrows and smiled, looking from them to Toshiro.
---
Hayai dipped his small head in respect. "Message delivery courtesy of Hayai and young Uchiha-san," he said, then jumped off the desk again, heading for the window; "I will deliver your reply, Hokage-sama." The fox jumped to the windowsill, and was gone as quickly as he'd arrived.

Toshiro looked slightly amused. "You two are a riot. Just don't cause too much of a racket later." He smiled and patted them both on the shoulder, clearly content with the situation. He sat down and gave a small sigh before kicking his feet up. "This should be fun."
Takashi feigned a hurt look. "Oh sure! Believe me whenever Ashitaka vouches for us! I see how it is." Just as Toshiro looked like he was going to apologize, Takashi started laughing. "I'm messing with you! It's okay!"
Naruto's grin widened. "Looks like I'll need to get away from this paperwork for a bit. Oh darn..." he said before he let out a large laugh. "I can hardly wait. It's been a long time since we all got together." he said to himself.

"Man, I wish my dad was this fun," Ashitaka said with a laugh, folding his arms and shaking his head; "That's some kind of wishful thinking. Heh."
---
Hayai had come to the Uchiha household now, but before he could find a window to hop through, the front door opened, and Keiji wandered out, noticing the fox almost immediately. "...Aren't you Ashi's?" the boy asked. Hayai trotted toward him, offering the rolled up note. Keiji took it and turned, walking back toward the house with the fox. "Hey, there's a letter from Ashitaka," Keiji called as he walked back inside with the note; "His messenger fox brought it."
