RUMOR/SECRET: | Rumor has it that Gauss was adopted and his real parents parents were villains killed by Pro-Heroes. |
Honest and loyal above all else, Toshiro is a kind-hearted man who will do anything for his loved ones. The type to follow through with his promises to the best of his ability, he is known to be reliable and possess tremendous leadership qualities should the situation call for it. Due to this, he has a habit of trying to motivate his allies in an attempt to bring out their maximum potential.
The life of the party wherever he goes, Toshiro is fun to be around thanks to his lively sense of humor and knack for putting a funny spin on things that could be considered awkward to talk about. Extremely energetic and optimistic, and oftentimes dramatic--Toshiro acts as if he was an actor and the world was his stage.
All in all, he is a fun loving individual with a big heart.
On the other hand, for every strength, there happens to be a weakness. Because he cares so much for his loved ones, he tends to be a bit smothering when it comes to relationships. And not one to back down from a fight if it means protecting someone, he often finds himself rushing into dangerous situations without a second thought.
But in the end one thing is certain--you can always count on Akisaka Toshiro.

Pain, desperation, sorrow, death--these are all things we as humans deal with--sometimes the ones that have made it through allow themselves to be changed--hardened even. They allow the world to distort their perception of life and it eats way at them until they lose their sense of wonder, their drive to be better people.Their drive to help those who have been flung
into this world with nary a soul or even a bit of the strength required to weather the storm. But those that hear the heroes call step up without hesitation to prove to the downtrodden that hope still stands. This is a story of one of those souls. A soul full of fiery determination to protect those that cannot protect themselves--this is the story of Akisaka Toshiro. The Hero known as Gauss.
The first four years of the man's life are a mystery. Found wandering around the outskirts of Hachioji by Akisaka Sojiro, a hero just happening to be running his nightly rounds, was a child that couldn't have been any older than four. Sojiro noticed the boy as he charged toward a snarling dog that had cornered a rather terrified looking cat--his little arms flailing behind him with his teddy trailing, screaming bloody murder the whole time as tears streamed from his eyes.
Sojiro, managing to chase off the dog before anything happened, turned his attention to the child. His face was plastered in dirt with exception of the streaks where the tears had hit. Needless to say the child was brought to the local police station for safety while they attempted to find out what was going on. Toshiro couldn't provide any information at all when it came to his parents or home--no address or names or anything. He would just become very quiet when asked or prodded about the subject of his parents--almost like he was taught to do so.
All the little boy could really say when it came to his parents was,
"Mommy will be back. She said."
But she wouldn't. His mother would not return to her son--instead Toshiro would end up with Child Services but wouldn't stay very long as he was placed into a home almost immediately--as the man who found him that fateful night decided to adopt him into his family. Having seemingly been abandoned and left for dead, it would take Toshiro a long time to get used to and accept his new home. It wasn't that he wasn't thankful for his new family--it was just very hard to put his trust in anything for fear of being left. But eventually as time moved on he would grow to love his foster family who did their best to welcome them into their home.
Things would pick up rather quickly after his adoption--as it would be discovered that Toshiro was the wielder of a quirk of his own. Originally believing Toshiro might be quirkless because he didn't exhibit any signs of one, that would soon be proven incorrect when eventually some prodding from his older brother would open the flood gates, so to speak.
They were all in the living room one afternoon when Tetsuya had been picking on him about not having a quirk of his own for the fifth time that day and in a fit of rage, Toshiro let out a shout and knocked the fork that he was holding right out of his hand and sent it sailing across the room. Toshiro, expecting to be admonished for this, was surprised when his mother was excitedly pinching his cheek and cooing at how proud she was and his father patted him on the back and told him that it was time to get serious.
His mother cast a look over at her husband that was less than enthusiastic. Shooing her son away for a moment, but not making sure that he actually left, she immediately made her annoyance known.
"He's a baby, Sojiro."
"A baby doesn't charge a fully grown snarling Tosa to save a cat, Hitomi. That boy is going to be a hero--no doubt about it. And it would be a disservice to him to not notice and cultivate that."
From that point on, life was devoted to hero training--and it was not pleasant in the least. Toshiro, while he had all the courage in the world matched with an iron will, his body was not used to the rigorous training that his father put him through. Though, the reprieve he would receive in the form of his mother's smiling encouragement and extreme care made the grueling training easier to bare. That's not to say that his father didn't love him or care--it was just he showed his love differently. He knew Toshiro's life had been difficult at the start and the trauma he likely endured would follow him in life, so he would have to become strong. And he knew that he could and would.
Toshiro was subjected to grueling workouts and agility training as well as training to better understand and utilize his quirk. And it was paying off in spades--the young man was growing stronger by the day. He was completely consumed with becoming a hero--it was almost as if he was running toward this goal so quickly because he was running from something within himself. But if that was the case, it was being done subconsciously--he was too busy with hero work to notice much of anything else. As a matter of fact, even when Toshiro wasn't training or studying, he was daydreaming of being a hero worthy of his father's pride. Daydreaming of jumping to the rescue of someone in need as he watched his father do countless times. Plucked from the streets and out of the maw of despair, the young man couldn't help but feel like he had been given this chance for a reason--like it was his destiny to become a hero worthy of how his father envisioned him to one day be.
Toshiro would be accepted into UA and would end up doing tremendously. He wasn't the most popular student in the school but he was quickly recognized as one of the brightest--also it should be noted that he did end up in trouble a few times as he would not tolerate bullies and would stick up for people being picked on even if it ended in a fight. He had never been able to sit by and watch other people get pushed around. It was what drove him to be a hero and the reason his father had seen the potential within him.
Apart from the few instances of fighting bullies, Toshiro's school years were great. While he wasn't popular by any stretch of the imagination he did manage to make a couple of good friends and managed to utilize every second he had to learn everything he could from his teachers and even his fellow classmates. He would go on to get his provisional hero license and while he wanted to do his work study with his father--he refused, stating to him, "You'll have all the time in the world to study with me, son." And so he would study under a different hero and it proved to be very useful. As the hero he studied under would train him in marksmanship and how to be more accurate and deliberate with his moves. Toshiro would remain in contact with said hero even after his work study ended, as they had formed a close bond.
Eventually Toshiro would graduate from the academy and would end up working at his families Hero Agency. A lot of people would get complacent in this situation and rest on their laurels, but Toshiro was not built like that. Even if he was out of school and working--the training was never over. If he wanted to be the hero that his father knew he could be, he had to give it his all. And so he would--Toshiro would spend every second he could attempting to go further beyond his limits. He had heard it every single day for years and it had stuck with him without a doubt.
PLUS ULTRA.
This would become Toshiro's motto, as he would continue on through life doing his best to protect those who couldn't protect themselves and doling out justice to the villains that dared to darken his cities doorstep, so to speak. Things would continue pretty well uninterrupted until one day the young hero would receive a letter in the mail from an unnamed source.

THE ARMORY
This here is your inventory, everything you plan to use in battle such as weapons, hero suit, support items must be declared here. Think of it as one might the inventory in a video game, you can't use what you don't have here in combat, so be careful!
QUIRK & SKILLS
Polarity
TYPE: Emmiter
RANK/LEVEL: B+
SUMMARY:
The electrons that circle Toshiro's atoms spin at such a rapid rate that his body naturally produces a magnetic field 20 feet in diameter. Upon utilization of this quirk, Toshiro has the ability to control the polarity of magnetized objects in his bodies magnetic field. This magnetic field can be active for up to four (4) posts before a cooldown period of one post must be taken.
Polarity Wave: Toshiro increases the strength of his magnetic field and adjusts the polarity depending on what he is attempting to do at the time. Depending on the situation, Toshiro can either pull or repel any magnetized objects or substances in his magnetic field.
Gauss Beam: Toshiro can take hold of a highly magnetized object in his hand and upon reversing the polarity of his field and increasing the strength of said field, he is able to turn his body into a Gauss Cannon--firing off projectiles at nigh impossible velocities--with the destructive capabilities reliant upon the amount of physical energy expended in increasing the strength of the magnetic field as well as the size of the projectile. This technique uses up an extra post.
WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS:
Toshiro must constantly wear a special support bracelet or he will constantly short out electrical equipment due to his magnetic field. Toshiro's magnetic field only works on magnetic material--so non-magnetized materials like copper, silver and gold will not be subjected to this quirks abilities. Because of the iron in his blood, after prolonged use of this quirk, (10 posts) it begins to pool towards Toshiro's arms--causing extreme dizziness and fatigue as well as terrible bruising. Further abuse of the quirk can most certainly lead to loss of consciousness. At fourteen (14) posts of usage, Toshiro will pass out and his magnetic field will dissipate.

Marksmanship
RANK/LEVEL: B+
SUMMARY:
Toshiro, during his academy years and beyond, has worked extensively on his aim when it comes to projectile weaponry--given that part of his quirk makes him a human gauss rifle. He knew that in order to draw out the most potential from his abilities without creating something that just decimated everything in it's path--he would need precision. And so he spent as much time as he could perfecting his aim.
Martial Arts
RANK/LEVEL: B
SUMMARY:
Toshiro's foster family runs a hero agency--so needless to say when they found out their new adopted son had a quirk they wasted no time in getting to work. By the time Toshiro was eighteen he was proficient in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Though not as good as his marksmanship, Toshiro is most certainly a force to be reckoned with should the need for hand to hand combat arise.
Fighting Spirit
RANK/LEVEL: B-
SUMMARY:
Toshiro has always had an indomitable will--never backing down or giving up when things got hard or painful. He has spent his entire life getting beaten to a pulp--both due to his foster families extreme training and the fact that he has a knack for stirring up drama. Due to his iron will and these constant beatings, he has managed to accrue an above average pain threshold and is quite a bit harder to take down than the average person.
